Overlanding Utah’s Grand Staircase-Escalante

We set out to explore a route we’d been dreaming about for years, crossing some of the most remote parts of Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument and into the badlands and mesas above Lake Powell.

It wasn’t an easy drive. Deep mud, storms, and long stretches without seeing another soul. But that’s also part of why we loved it. Traveling through these kinds of places remind you why preparation, knowledge and patience matter, and why the wild corners of the Southwest are worth every challenge!
