Featured on the Cover of Overland Journal | Fall 2024 Issue
We are honored to share that one of Brian’s photographs was chosen as the cover image for the fall 2024 issue of the Overland Journal magazine!

It all started back in the summer of 2022 while we were driving north along the Dempster Highway. We had pulled off on the side of the road to take photos of a massive field of fireweed flowers when off in the distance Brian noticed a large expedition truck coming our way. With the camera already in hand, he decided to snap a few shots of the impressive rig with the vibrant fireweed flowers in the foreground.
As the truck passed us heading south, Brian exclaimed that he was pretty sure that we followed them on social media — Yoda Travels. Over the course of that summer in Alaska, we crossed paths with Judith and Arthur of Yoda Travels many more times and ended up building a friendship that now feels like family.
In 2024 after Judith and Arthur had completed their Pan American journey, they submitted a piece that they wrote about their travels to Overland Journal which included Brian’s photo (which he’d given them permission to use as they please). When Overland Journal reached out to them and asked for that particular image to be featured on the cover of that issue, Arthur graciously gave Brian the photo credit and told them to reach out to us. A few signatures later, and in a little disbelief, Brian had just landed the honor of the cover image on one of the publications that we admire most!
When we returned to the states after spending that summer exploring Atlantic Canada, we made a trip into a Barnes and Noble bookstore where we were honored and frankly, tickled to find a stack of the fall 2024 issue of Overland Journal with Brian’s image staring us in the face! It truly was such a surreal moment and I am so incredibly proud of Brian for this achievement!
